You don’t have to feel this way forever.
Whether you’re carrying something that’s been with you for years, navigating a difficult season of life, or simply feeling that there must be more than this — therapy can help. And you don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support.
How Do I Know If I’m Ready?
You don’t have to be ready. You just have to be curious. Most people feel some nervousness before their first session — that’s completely normal. The first session is a chance for us to meet, for you to tell me what’s brought you here, and for both of us to get a sense of whether we’d work well together. There’s no commitment beyond that.
Who I Work With
I work with individual adults (18+) across a wide range of difficulties and life experiences. Some people come to me in real distress. Others come because they’re fundamentally ok but want to understand themselves better, find more balance, or step more fully into the life they want.
Both are equally valid reasons to seek therapy. I’ll meet you wherever you are.
A Note on What I Don’t Specialise In
I want to make sure every person I work with gets the support that’s right for them. I don’t hold specialist training in eating disorders, active addiction, or sexual issues — and for these presentations I’d want to ensure you’re working with someone with the specific expertise you deserve. If you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit, please just ask.
I work with individuals rather than couples, and with adults aged 18 and over.
What We Might Work On Together
Anxiety and worry · Depression and low mood · Trauma and dissociation · Bereavement and loss · Relationship and family difficulties · Low self-esteem and self-worth · Stress and overwhelm · Redundancy and work difficulties · Life transitions and change · Work-life balance · Personal growth and self-exploration · Finding direction and meaning
If what you’re experiencing isn’t on this list, please don’t let that put you off getting in touch. If I’m the right person to help you, I’ll say so — and if I’m not, I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.
My Approach
I work from a person-centred foundation, which means that you — your experience, your pace, your needs — are always at the heart of our work together. I integrate psychodynamic principles to help us explore how your past may be shaping your present, and I have specialist experience working with trauma and dissociation.
But therapy isn’t only for crisis. Some of my most rewarding work has been with people who are fundamentally okay but want more — better work-life balance, a clearer sense of direction, the courage to explore new opportunities or simply to live more fully. You don’t have to be in pain to deserve support.
What Happens In The First Session?
We talk. I’ll ask you what’s brought you to therapy at this point, what you’re hoping for, and a little bit about your background. You can ask me anything too. It’s a conversation, not an assessment.
How Long Will I Need?
I genuinely don’t know yet - and neither will you. We’ll review regularly to make sure the work continues to feel useful and relevant.
How It Works
Sessions are 50 minutes and we meet weekly. I offer appointments during the day and in the evening in the South Lincolnshire area, online or by telephone.
First session@£35
Ongoing sessions: £70
Is It Confidential?
Yes, completely - with the standard ethical exceptions around risk of serious harm, which I’ll explain clearly in our first session.
Counselling or Psychotherapy — What’s the Difference?
People often wonder which they need. The honest answer is that the boundary is less fixed than it might appear — and the right approach for you will emerge from our first conversation together.
As a rough guide:
Counselling tends to be shorter term and more focused — helpful when you’re dealing with a specific difficulty, a recent event, or a particular period of stress. It’s practical, present-focused and often time-limited.
Psychotherapy goes deeper and takes longer — it’s the work of understanding not just what is happening now, but why, and how your history has shaped the person you are today. It’s open-ended and often transformative.
In practice I draw on both, led entirely by what you need. There’s no right answer — only what’s right for you.
